Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment are collaborating with a leading aerospace manufacturer to find a Supplier Development Engineer.
The successful candidate will manage and maintain the company’s suppliers, working closely with internal teams such as operations, purchasing, and project leaders, as well as external suppliers to develop mutually beneficial relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct supplier audits in accordance with the BMS system.
- Enhance the supplier monitoring process using analytical techniques, including improving the supplier scorecard and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure all supplier quality system documentation is up to date, including the Supplier Quality Manual.
- Maintain supplier quality metrics, working within set targets and ensuring any non-conformances are addressed in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain a supplier database, including the scope of supply and frequency of review.
- Perform robust problem-solving using 8D Root Cause and Corrective Action, both internally and with suppliers.
- Conduct 1st and 2nd party audits (a recognized lead auditing qualification is desirable).
- Support the internal NCR process and analyze trends to take appropriate action.
- Assist with supplier selection for new product introductions.
- Support 3rd party audits as needed.
- Promote and support continuous improvement and lean practices.
- Communicate findings and improvements effectively, with strong MS Office skills.
- Develop and deliver in-house training to support the Certified Operator program related to supplier approval.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
- Significant experience in a supplier management role within a quality environment.
- Ability to work in multi-functional teams, both externally and internally.
- Aerospace or automotive experience is desirable.
- Proven planning skills.
- Experience producing accurate and detailed comprehensive reports on suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including creating Excel spreadsheets.
- Six Sigma knowledge is essential; a green belt is desirable.
- Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements and authorities is desirable.
- Excellent command of the English language and strong communication skills.
- Good presentation skills for groups of 10-50 people.
- Experience with lean manufacturing is desirable.
