Position: Human Resources Business Partner – UK
Location: Oxfordshire, UK
Work Schedule: On-site presence required for a minimum of 32 hours per week.
Role Purpose:
This position holds full accountability for the Human Resources function, including payroll and training. The successful candidate will develop and deliver an HR strategy that aligns with our evolving business needs, ensuring value addition to the organisation. This role involves close collaboration with business leaders to implement HR policies and procedures that support the organisation’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all daily HR operations.
- Collaborate with local and group HR teams to develop and implement HR strategies.
- Lead and develop the HR team, providing mentorship and support.
- Champion organisational change and foster adaptability.
- Support management in driving change and cultivating a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain and promote a consistent HR brand aligned with organisational values.
- Execute key initiatives and business-related projects.
- Build and sustain strong relationships across the organisation.
- Optimise HR processes to enhance service delivery.
- Provide accurate data to support business planning and decision-making.
- Lead HR and Learning & Development projects to foster a high-performing environment.
- Advise on and ensure compliance with HR best practices and company policies.
- Manage employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Oversee absence monitoring and provide guidance on reporting and analysis.
- Engage actively with the management team, contributing expertise and insight.
- Manage union relations, including consultation and pay negotiations.
- Coach managers and leaders to maximise team performance.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to oversee recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
- Oversee the probation review process.
- Manage employee benefits, including Private Medical Insurance and recognition programmes.
- Administer and oversee payroll functions.
- Maintain and update personnel records in the HR database.
- Manage the annual Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
- Coordinate planned absences to support maintenance planning.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a HR Business Partner role or similar, with a focus on employee relations and union activities.
- At least 3 years of experience in people management, offering strategic advice to local management.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated experience in providing sound HR advice and achieving results in a dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting managers in policy implementation.
- Track record of delivering HR projects and activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs, including English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Confident, proactive, and professional communication style.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team player capable of working autonomously.
- Ability to model positive values and behaviours.
